I agree that 2003 April is the best April O'Neil by far. However, I actually like 2012 April. If you've seen my other fanart I've drawn her quite frequently. The fact is I like the character. The writer's haven't done the best job in fleshing her out as a well-rounded, well-developed character and this is a constant cause of frustration for me. However, I'm not going to blame April herself. The concept of a younger April is different but interesting; she's more vulnerable in some ways but on the other hand she also has more potential, her whole life is ahead of her. It's annoying that the show constantly throws her into positions where she requires being rescued. I think that the amount of times they have used that as a plot device is unnecessary. But this isn't my greatest cause of frustration. Rather I am more annoyed that the show isn't trying hard to show how April thinks and feels, her relationship with the other turtles, her life outside the turtles, her other friends, hobbies or personality. But 2012 April herself has the potential to be a fantastic character and that is why I choose to like her and instead criticize how the writers of the show have chosen to depict her. In order to satisfy your need to see 2012 April in a better light I recommend Fantasia Wandering's fanfiction "Falling";
